Barcelona vs Osasuna: the suspended match now has a confirmed new date
'The match between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna, suspended for tragic reasons, will be played on March 27.'
The suspended match between FC Barcelona and Club Atlético Osasuna, which was initially scheduled for March 8, 2025, now has a confirmed date. According to the resolution of the sole Competition judge, the match will be played on March 27, 2025 at the time determined by the National Professional Football League. This date was proposed by LaLiga to fit the match into the 27th round of the National League Championship.
Although Barça and Osasuna did not prefer this date, the decision has been made to ensure that the match is played as soon as possible without affecting other commitments of the azulgrana team, such as the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. Other dates that were considered included the weekend of April 26 and 27, if Barcelona did not advance to the final of the Copa del Rey, or May 21, if the team was still alive in the different competitions. However, the officially established date is March 27.
Barcelona is considering appealing the date
Barça is considering filing a complaint regarding the date of the match against Osasuna, as Raphinha and Araujo would not be able to play due to being with their national teams. March 27 would pose a headache for the azulgrana team, as there will be an international break from Thursday, March 20 to Tuesday, March 25. Consequently, it would be very complicated for the culé team to count on Raphinha and Ronald Araujo, as they would arrive with very little rest.
"Against the present resolution, an appeal can be filed with the National Committee of Second Instance within forty-eight hours"
The match between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna, scheduled for the 27th round of LaLiga on March 8, 2025, was suspended due to the passing of Dr. Carles Miñarro, a member of the medical staff of Barcelona.
