Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are already in the Champions League semi-finals. When will the qualifiers before the final be played? Find out here!
FC Barcelona advanced to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time in six years. The team led by Hansi Flick beat Borussia Dortmund with a 5-3 aggregate score, after thrashing them in the first leg at Montjuïc (4-0) and losing in Germany (3-1).
The 'culés' sealed their qualification on Tuesday thanks to an own goal by Rami Bensebaini in the 55th minute, in a match in which Niko Kovac's team did not benefit from Serhou Guirassy's 'hat-trick'.
In Montjuïc, Barça had taken a great advantage thanks to goals from Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski (double) and Lamine Yamal. In this way, Flick's team has 9 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses in the tournament, being the highest scoring team (37) and with the most wins so far in 12 appearances.
Raphinha leads the Catalan attack with 12 goals and 7 assists, followed by Lewandowski (11 goals). With his 'hat-trick', Guirassy reached 13 goals, one more than the Brazilian. Now, Barça is preparing to play the Champions League semi-finals, where they await Inter Milan or Bayern Munich.
When are the Champions League semi-finals played?
The first leg will be played in the last week of April, between Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30, while the second leg will be a week later, from Tuesday 6 to Wednesday 7 May.
Before the first leg, the 'culés' will play the Clásico of the Copa final against Real Madrid and, after the second leg, they will again face the 'merengues' on matchday 35 of LaLiga. With this, there will be a pair of Clásicos between the Champions League semi-finals.
In their next tie, as in the quarter-final tie, Barcelona will be at home in the first leg and away in the second leg. This is not a minor factor, as it is a disadvantage for a team that advanced directly to the round of 16 as second in the general table.
Champions League semi-finals: PSG vs Arsenal/Real Madrid
The first semi-final will be between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal or Real Madrid. On Tuesday, Luis Enrique's team sealed their qualification with suffering in Birmingham despite having a four-goal advantage on aggregate before the first half hour of the match.
PSG arrived in England with a 3-1 lead from the first leg and went 0-2 up in 27 minutes with goals from Hakimi and Nuno Mendes. However, Aston Villa pulled one back in the 34th minute thanks to a goal from Tielemans. After the break, Unai Emery's team went all out for the comeback and almost managed to force extra time.
McGinn and Konsa turned the result around with a pair of goals in the 55th and 57th minutes, but the Parisians resisted the reaction of the locals and advanced to the 'semis' with a 5-4 aggregate score. There they will have to face Arsenal or Real Madrid, waiting to see what happens this Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The 'gunners' arrive with a comfortable advantage after the thrashing last week in London (3-0), while Madrid, despite the victory on Sunday against Alavés (0-1) arrive in a low moment for a comeback that seems impossible. In 'semis', PSG will close the tie at home.
- First leg: Arsenal/Real Madrid vs Paris Saint-Germain. Date: Tuesday 29 or Wednesday 30 April in London or Madrid.
- Second leg: Paris Saint-Germain vs Arsenal/Real Madrid. Date: Tuesday 6 or Wednesday 7 May in Paris.
Champions League semi-finals: Barça vs Inter/Bayern

The second semi-final has Barcelona waiting for Inter Milan or Bayern Munich. Hansi Flick's team was the second best team in the league phase with 19 points out of a possible 24, only surpassed by Liverpool (21).
In the round of 16, the 'azulgrana' team beat Benfica winning both matches (0-1 in Lisbon, 3-1 in Montjuïc) and, in the quarter-finals, advanced against Borussia Dortmund with a 5-3 aggregate score.
In front will be 'nerazzurris' or Bavarians. In the first leg, Inter won by the minimum in Munich (1-2), but the precedents between both teams give enough reasons to think that the tie is still very open. Simone Inzaghi's team, in principle, are presented as a rival with better current form, leaders of Serie A and semi-finalists of the Coppa Italia.
Inter was fourth in the league phase with the same points as Barça (19) and has only lost one match so far. In addition, they boast the best defense in the tournament, with only 3 goals conceded in 11 matches.
Bayern, on the other hand, had to play the 'play off' against Celtic to get into the round of 16 (3-2), although in that phase they clearly beat Leverkusen (5-0). In addition, Vincent Kompany's team was already thrashed by Barça in the group stage (4-1) in Montjuïc, with a 'hat-trick' from Raphinha and another goal from Lewandowski.
- First leg: FC Barcelona vs Inter Milan/Bayern Munich. Date: Tuesday 29 or Wednesday 30 April in Montjuïc.
