FC Barcelona collected several outstanding accounts from Bayern Munich on Wednesday in Montjuïc (4-1). Hansi Flick's men broke a four-game drought without scoring against the Bavarians

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona beat Bayern Munich in Montjuïc (4-1) and put an end to a streak of four consecutive games without scoring against the Bavarians. Since the fateful night in Lisbon, in the quarterfinals of the 2019/20, the culés had not been able to pierce the goal defended by Manuel Neuer.

The last Barça player to score against Bayern was Luis Suárez, author of the partial 2-4 in a duel that also ended in a historic win. Both teams met again in the group stages of 2021/22 and 2022/23, with notable German superiority.

On September 14, 2021, Bayern won at Camp Nou (0-3) with a double from Lewandowski and the same from Thomas Müller. In Munich, on December 8 of that year, the result was identical, with goals scored by Müller, Sané and Musiala.

The following season, the Bavarians once again won both matches in the group stage. On September 13, 2022, at the Allianz Arena, Lucas Hernández and Sané resolved the match for the locals. On October 26, the culés would fall again at Camp Nou (0-3), this time with goals from Mané, Choupo-Moting and Pavard.

Hansi Flick's Barça took a minute to break Xavi's curse

On Wednesday, however, it was time for Barça's revenge. For Hansi Flick's team, the night started in the best way in Montjuïc with a great goal from Raphinha as soon as the match started.

The '11' took advantage of the overtaking of the Bavarian defense lines to beat Joshua Kimmich after a long pass from Fermín López, who completed a spectacular game in the 60 minutes he was on the field.

Bayern reacted quickly with a goal by Harry Kane disallowed for offside and another completely legal, but the Catalans unleashed their entire offensive arsenal after half an hour of play, led by a totally unleashed Raphinha, author of a hat trick.

By betting on quick exits and long balls, Barça made the Bavarians pay for all the damage from other games with a formula that the Germans usually work to perfection, the counterattack. In the end, there were four culés goals in a night to remember at Montjuïc (Lewandowski scored the other).

What Xavi Hernández's team could not do in four games, Hansi Flick's team did in 57 seconds. In fact, Raphinha's goal was the club's third fastest in the tournament, only surpassed by another from Mark van Bommel against Panathinaikos in 2005 (36 seconds) and Sonny Anderson, against Manchester United (1998). Later, when it was time to suffer, the team endured and reacted with the character it lacked in previous seasons.
