Schedule set! Key dates for the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League

UEFA has announced the calendar of the top club competition, the Champions League, for the 2025-2026 season. The European season will be marked by the dispute of the European Super Cup on August 13, 2015, as well as by the continuity of the new format, one that from the current season will allow 36 teams to compete, with 8 games per club in the first phase and without being divided into groups of four teams.

With this in mind, UEFA has determined that the league phase will begin on September 16, 2025 and will conclude on January 28, 2026. The 8 matchdays will be distributed as follows: Matchday 1 (September 16-18) , Day 2 (September 30 and October 1), Day 3 (October 21-22), Day 4 (November 4-5), Day 5 (November 25-26), Day 6 (December 9-10), Day 7 (January 20-21) Day 8 (January 28).

The key dates of the second phase of the tournament

It is worth highlighting that UEFA has established the 8 weeks dedicated to the first phase with matches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, although the first day also includes matches on Thursday, as will also happen in the 2024/25 season. In addition, the last day will be played with the 36 teams competing simultaneously on Wednesday, remembering that the clubs will play 4 games at home and 4 as visitors, but without repeating rivals, as happened in the previous format.

The competition will resume for the 'play off' round, to define the other 8 teams that will advance to the round of 16, playing on February 17-18 and 24-25, 2026. The round of 16 are set for the first leg for March 10-11 and the return on March 17-18 of the same month. The quarterfinals will be played on April 7-8 and 14-15. The first leg of the semi-finals will be played on April 28 and 29, leaving the second leg for May 5 and 6. The grand final is set for May 30 at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.
