After a difficult weekend following his expulsion against Betis, Hansi Flick showed a completely different face this Wednesday with the resounding victory of FC Barcelona against Borussia Dortmund. The German, totally satisfied with the level of his team, spoke to the media at a press conference and made clear his joy at the culé triumph.

"Winning here is impressive. Today we have taken a very big step. Our objective is to win and be first. Today we have seen that we are a team, that we present ourselves as such and we can take advantage of our strengths," Flick began by saying.

"The team has a great mentality, they look after each other a lot and the atmosphere in the locker room is very good. Today everyone was very happy. We have celebrated it and we will celebrate it," continued the German, before leaving a brutal praise for La Masia.

"This team is like a family and I think La Masia has had a lot of influence on that"

Later, Flick said that Barça's objective in the Champions League "is to take it game by game, there is still a lot of competition left," and then left a message for the culers who travelled to Germany. "I am very happy that so many fans have travelled. It has made us very happy," he said.

The keys to victory in Dortmund

The Barça coach commented that Dortmund was a difficult opponent, but he believes that his team did not suffer. "Suffering is not the right word. Dortmund played very well, they are fantastic players, they have a very high pace and it is difficult to defend them, but we did well. The goals came because we made mistakes. We can always improve, but today I have to say congratulations to the team," he concluded.

"We can be very happy with what we did. We believed in it and the quality of the players. The first half was wonderful and in the second, when Dortmund scored, we were stable. It was one of the best games. Obviously there were goals against, not in that area, but we had a lot of possession and we were very good with the ball," continued the German.

Flick continued his analysis by stating that "the positive thing was the possession of the ball in the first half. We played calmly and that's how we wanted to play. When we made the changes, with Ferran and Fermín, they were direct and scored. You can see that the team believes in itself."

Finally, he made public his satisfaction with the team's present in the championship. "We have a very young team, but I am really proud because there are times when the games are difficult for us and that is normal, there are players with little or no experience in this competition but it is also good for the fans, who understand that everything is very difficult and that we are fighting and making an effort and that this position is not given away by anyone," he concluded.
