The fourth day of the 2024/25 Champions League ended with several surprise results and real bombshells in the standings. In the key Barça, the Blaugrana team gave a new blow of authority with a brutal 'thrashing' of Red Star (2-5) that allows Hansi Flick's team to sneak into the direct qualification positions for the round of 16, while Real Madrid suffered an embarrassing defeat against Milan (1-3).

The top of the table has Liverpool as the only leader with 12 points. Arne Slot's team 'crushed' Leverkusen (4-0) and remain undefeated, while Sporting CP jumped to second position with a surprising thrashing of Manchester City (4-1). Behind them is Monaco, who achieved a hard-fought victory against Bologna (0-1). Both have 10 points.

Brest (1-2 against Sparta Prague) remain unbeaten and are fourth, while Inter Milan have moved up to fifth place after beating Arsenal (1-0). Barça are now sixth after beating Red Star (2-5) and Dortmund have moved up to seventh after beating Sturm Graz by a narrow margin (1-0). Eighth place currently belongs to Aston Villa despite their unexpected defeat against Club Brugge (1-0).

Real Madrid are plummeting in the table

Further down the table, in 9th place, is Atalanta, and behind the Italians, already in the play-off zone, are Manchester City in 10th place after a resounding defeat against Sporting CP, Juventus (11) after a 1-1 draw with Lille (14) and Arsenal (12), who were also beaten by Inter. Leverkusen are 13th after suffering their first defeat of the tournament against Liverpool.

Next in line are Celtic (15), Dinamo Zagreb (16), Bayern Munich (17) and Real Madrid (18), who continue their 'descent into hell' after being humiliated by Milan (20). Behind them are Benfica (19), Feyenoord (21), Club Brugge (22) and Atlético de Madrid (23), all with 6 points, while PSV Eindhoven (24) closes the play-offs with 5 points.

Finally, out of the standings, for now, are PSG, Sparta Prague, Stuttgart, Shahktar, Girona, RB Salzburg, Bologna, RB Leipzig, Sturm Graz, Young Boys, Red Star and Slovan Bratislava. Matchday 5 of the league phase will be played between Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th November.
