Robert Lewandowski led Barça's rout against Dortmund (4-0) with a double that allows him to reach 40 goals this season
FC Barcelona crushed Borussia Dortmund (4-0) in another azulgrana display. Hansi Flick's team was a whirlwind of goals and good play, with a devastating attack led by Robert Lewandowski. The Polish player scored a double against his favorite victim, a Dortmund against whom he has already scored 29 goals in 28 games, to reach 11 goals in the current edition of the UEFA Champions League.
The '9' scored the partial 2-0 in the 47th minute, taking advantage of an assist from Raphinha, who headed down a difficult ball at the far post. After the second azulgrana goal, Borussia gave up and Barça quickly showed their superiority on the scoreboard. In the 66th minute, the third goal would arrive, again by 'Lewy', this time thanks to a good pass from Fermín López from the right.
Lewandowski participated in three of Barça's four goals
Barça put together a lethal counterattack with a quick start from Fermín and a filtered pass from Lamine Yamal. Robert arrived unmarked in the center of the area, finishing first-time with a shot that went in off the post, impossible for goalkeeper Kobel. Eleven minutes later, the 4-0 would arrive, scored by Yamal, in a play that Lewandowski started with a recovery in the center of the field. The experienced striker enabled Raphinha and he enabled the '19' for the youth player to finish with the tip of his left foot.
In that sense, the Polish player participated in three of Barça's four goals and reached 11 goals in the tournament, one less than the Pichichi, his teammate Raphinha. In addition, the '9' reached 40 goals in 45 games in all competitions this season, by far his best with the azulgrana shirt. 'Lewy' remains the top scorer in LaLiga with 25 goals and has also scored 3 goals in the Copa del Rey and another in the Spanish Super Cup.
Lewandowski reveals the key to the azulgrana's forcefulness
After receiving the MVP of the match from UEFA, the experienced azulgrana striker assured that, despite the rout, Barça will go to Dortmund with the utmost respect to close the tie with another victory. In addition, he revealed the key to the good play displayed by the culés, as well as the forcefulness shown throughout the season.
"We play as a team, that's the most important thing. Whether Lamine, Raphinha or I score... we do it for Barça. If we play well together and we are good, also off the field, this team has a lot of potential. We have four more steps ahead," Lewandowski argued in his chat with 'Movistar+'. He also valued his great present with Hansi Flick's team.
"I am very happy with my numbers. 99 goals with Barça. In my head I always have to help the team in addition to scoring. A striker always has to think about goals, but if we play well as a team, it's easier for me," the Polish player pointed out.
