The directors of FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich met at the traditional lunch prior to the Champions League match in Montjuïc. For Rafa Yuste, the team must forget about seeking revenge against the Bavarians

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The Via Veneto restaurant in Barcelona was the place chosen by the FC Barcelona board to receive the representatives of Bayern Munich at the traditional lunch prior to the Champions League match that the Catalans and Bavarians will play this Wednesday in Montjuïc (9:00 p.m. CEST) .

Joan Laporta and Herbert Hainer, leaders of both clubs, led a meal in a very pleasant atmosphere, since respect and cordiality persists between the institutions despite the multiple crossings in Europe in recent seasons, settled in favor of the Munich team .

And it is that Bayern has had six consecutive wins against Barça since 2015. In this regard, Rafa Yuste got 'wet' about the moment of both clubs and the possible search for revenge by a culé team that arrives at a great moment in a week otherwise decisive.

"I see a great match, revenge for me is to remove the tension. We go with the intention of winning. Revenge and these things make one get lost," commented the Barça sports vice president when leaving lunch.

Rafa Yuste believes that Barça can break its bad streak against Bayern

In that sense, Yuste made clear the board's confidence in the Catalans' options to keep three key points to continue climbing positions in the new league phase presented by the Champions League.

"We are in a good moment of play, respecting our rival. We are two great players in Europe, with many Champions Leagues, but we leave with the conviction that we are going to win," he argued.

Barça comes from beating Young Boys last day (5-0), while Bayern lost their visit to Aston Villa (1-0). A Barça victory will allow Hansi Flick's men to get closer to the direct qualification places for the round of 16, while the club that is defeated will see its chances of advancing complicated, leaving it with only 3 of 9 disputed points.

For the Barça team, the last victory against the Bavarians was in the first leg of the 2014/15 semi-finals (3-0). Since then, there have been six consecutive defeats against the Munich team, with a painful balance of 4 goals for and 22 against. In the last four matches, in the defunct group stage, Barça could not even score against the Germans (0-3, 3-0, 2-0 and 0-3).
