Real Madrid's 'smoke screen' against Dortmund (5-2). The Whites displayed a mediocre game and were 'rescued' by Vini Jr's 'sparks'

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Real Madrid continue to live in an 'oasis'. The Merengue team welcomed Borussia Dortmund to the Santiago Bernabéu in the match corresponding to the third matchday of the 2024-2025 Champions League with a victory in which they came close to being embarrassed (5-2). With a hat-trick from Vinicius Jr. and another pair of goals from Lucas Vázquez and Rüdiger, the Whites came back from 0-2 down and 'rescued' the 3 points thanks to individual 'sparks'.

The first 45 minutes of Ancelotti's men showed the poor level of the team this season. The Germans gave them a real 'dance' that led to the fans booing the Madrid players who walked around the field and barely completed three passes in a row, with Donyel Malen and Jamie Gittens crowning a brutal first half for the visitors in which they exposed all the deficiencies of the Whites.

Vinicius 'worked' the miracle in the second half

On returning from the locker room, those led by Nuri Sahin sought to preserve their advantage and took refuge in their own field, a situation that was taken advantage of by a Madrid that relied on the 'sparks' of Vinicius Jr. to complete the comeback. Rüdiger discounted for the home team and from there the Teutons fell apart, allowing the home team to justify their poor football with the supposed 'magic' of the Bernabéu.

Lucas Vázquez and the '7' Merengue rounded off a victory that can only be understood by the result, since on the field the Vikings continued to show a mediocre level. Now, they await FC Barcelona on the same pitch next Saturday, in a Clásico in which, given what was seen on Tuesday, everything points to a new exhibition by the Blaugrana team.
