Kylian Mbappé has once again raised alarms in the Real Madrid infirmary. Against Atalanta, the player from Bondy scored a stunning goal but left injured in the 35th minute.

The drama of Kylian Mbappé in his first season with Real Madrid seems to have no end. On Tuesday, the player from Bondy left before halftime due to a muscle strain that could leave him 'KO' for the last three matches of the year, including the final of the Intercontinental Cup next week.

After half an hour of play, the French international felt a pull in the back of his left thigh and lay down on the grass. The Madrid doctors tried to recover him, but Carlo Ancelotti had no choice but to substitute Rodrygo Goes for the Frenchman. The former Paris Saint-Germain forward, however, walked off on his own towards the locker room.

Mbappé got injured in his best first half with Madrid

Before asking to be substituted, the '9' was by far the best of the 'merengues'. With Vinicius Jr. far from his best version, the player from Bondy carried the offensive weight for Madrid, very active on the right and combining with Brahim Díaz to create danger all across the front of the area.

In the '10', Kylian opened the scoring after a good assist from Díaz that paved the way for him to, after a controlled touch, leave his marker behind and finish low past the local goalkeeper. In total, Mbappé completed 10 passes out of 11 attempts, with 3 shots on goal and one foul received. By far, it was his best first half of the season in the Champions League with Madrid.

Now, Carlo Ancelotti and his players will wait for the official medical report on 'Kiki', who could miss the match next Saturday in Vallecas against Rayo. The whites will travel to Qatar next week to play the final of the Intercontinental Cup. Afterwards, they will close 2024 at home against Sevilla on Sunday the 22nd.
