The FC Barcelona will face an exciting match against one of the teams that, at first glance, appears to be one of the best in these first five matchdays of the UEFA Champions League 2024-25: Borussia Dortmund. A key match in both clubs' aspirations to stay in the fight for the current leadership held by Liverpool, who shows no signs of slowing down and, following their victory against Girona, has solidified their position at the top with a total of 18 points.
Understanding the importance of such a high-profile match, it is evident that every detail, no matter how small, aims to try to gain an advantage. Even if this means resorting to perhaps unconventional and unethical strategies, which, although not necessarily directly related to the home team, may unsettle the visiting team.
The regrettable strategy employed by some Dortmund fans to destabilize Barcelona
According to several media reports, just after midnight, at 00:20 hours, a group of alleged Borussia Dortmund fans put on a 'fireworks show' that lasted for approximately two minutes near the hotel where the Barcelona team is staying.
This strategy carried out by a presumed faction of the 'Black and Yellow' team, known for their passion, is questionable in all aspects. Their objective seems to be to disrupt the rest of the FC Barcelona players with the intention of arriving at the match against 'BVB' as fatigued as possible. They likely aimed to disturb the sleep of the Barça players by using extremely loud firecrackers.
Although this tactic is not new and has been used by other teams, the effectiveness of this strategy has not been proven. Undoubtedly, its main goal is to momentarily disrupt the stay of any team in a specific location, completely contrary to the fair play that should surround the game.
