The UEFA Champions League will define its eight qualifiers for the quarter-finals this Wednesday. When is the next phase played? Find out here
FC Barcelona awaits an opponent in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League after a solid victory against Benfica (3-1). Raphinha (two goals) and Lamine Yamal sealed a convincing aggregate score of 4-1 in favor of Hansi Flick's team, who extend their unbeaten streak in 2025 and establish themselves as strong candidates to reach the Munich final.
Now, Barcelona awaits the winner of the tie between Lille and Borussia Dortmund. The tie is completely open after the 1-1 in Germany, with a slight favoritism for Bruno Génésio's team for playing at home and having a better current form than the reigning runners-up. However, Niko Kovac's team is always capable of making defeat costly.
Bayern-Inter, the only quarter-final tie resolved so far
With the results from Tuesday, the only tie defined for the quarter-finals is Bayern Munich-Inter Milan. Both teams advanced decisively, after overcoming Bayer Leverkusen (5-0) and Feyenoord (4-1). Another team that has secured its place in the next phase is Arsenal, after the historic 1-7 that Mikel Arteta's team achieved in the first leg against PSV Eindhoven.
The London team will face the winner of the 'Euro derby' between Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid. The 'merengues' arrive with a minimal advantage at the Metropolitano (1-2), a stadium where Carlo Ancelotti's team has not won since xx, in the league. Another team awaiting a rival in the quarter-finals is Paris Saint-Germain, after making a statement at Anfield against Liverpool (0-1, 1-4 p.). Aston Villa and Bruges will be the rivals for Luis Enrique's team, with the balance clearly tilted in favor of the English after the 1-3 in Belgium.
⚽Wednesday matches in the Champions League

- Atlético de Madrid vs Real Madrid: 21:00 (1-2 on aggregate)
The Champions quarter-finals, from April 8 to 16
Thus, we will have to wait until the second week of April to play the quarter-final eliminations of the Champions. Just like the playoff and round of 16 matches, the quarter-final ties will be defined in consecutive weeks, between Tuesday, April 8, and Wednesday, April 15, awaiting the remaining four qualifiers to know how UEFA schedules the matches.
For now, what is certain is that Paris, Barcelona, and Bayern will have to play the return leg as visitors, just like Arsenal. Interestingly, 'gunners' and culés are two of the teams that advanced to the round of 16 as part of the TOP-8 that, inexplicably, will lose the home advantage in the next knockout phase. In contrast, teams like Dortmund or Real Madrid will have the opportunity to close their ties at home if they eventually advance to the quarter-finals.
