OFFICIAL: The Barça partners give the "yes" to the transfer of television rights

The FC Barcelona has lived a very important day in his history in the Extraordinary General Assembly, in which the Barcelona directors presented the two 'crowbars' to give a break to the economic situation of the club, sumida up to now in an unprecedented crisis. The partners have known the two proposals (sale of 49,9% of BLM and cession of the television rights) and have given green light for his execution.

The Barcelona directive has requested to the partners the cession of until 25% of the income that generates the club by the rights of television of LaLiga, after refusing the union to the project 'LaLiga Imposed', agreement between the patronal and the bottom investor CVC. The club poses that said cession was by 25 years, the half of what posed with the previous agreement and with the capacity of ingresar between 205 and 215 million euros. The cession has been approved with X votes in favour, X against and X have remained in white.

Eduard Romeu, economic vice-president of the club, has explained in his intervention in front of the partners that "the League is the organism that centralises the rights of the professional clubs. 60% of the income proceed of the national market and 40% of the international. In the season 20/21 the total income were 1.796 million euros. The League remains 135 millions. The Premier bends to the League, with 3.633 millions. The Bundesliga is with 1.440 millions and the Series To with 1.313 millions".

It aimed that this money distributes with three criteria considered. The half (50%) delivers of egalitarian way, whereas 25% decides in function of the social mass (partners and audiences) where the Barça is leader. The remaining percentage goes distributed depending of the sportive performance, by the classification obtained during the last five years. "We are speaking of stable values these last seasons. The Barça is the club that more ingresó in the season 20/21 with 166 million euros", stood out.

Likewise, the vice-president explained that "we do a sale of 5% at most of the income of the club. This 5% is today, but as have a plan to increase the income, to measure that grow in another income, will go down the weight of this 25%. Inside the negotiations are trying to limit the income and the profit of the investor. We base us in some forecasts that presents the League", standing out that "the investors assume risks. And the Spanish League could do a glorious investment and approach to the Premier. We do not pose us an operation above the 25 years".

Several offers on the table

During his intervention, Romeu explained that "have several proposals and will take the best option. From a percentage of revaluation we can limit this profit, that would give us back reducing the term", standing out that "we ask until a maximum of 25% and each ten percent minimum 200 millions to a time limit of 25 years".
