FC Barcelona maintained their unbeaten streak on Tuesday against Atlético Madrid (4-4) in a crazy match from start to finish. Hansi Flick's team came back from a 0-2 deficit and extended their unbeaten run to 14 matches

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The year 2025 for FC Barcelona is remarkable both for the style of play and the results achieved. In 14 appearances, Hansi Flick's team has 11 victories and 3 draws, with 48 goals scored and 16 conceded. On Tuesday, the Blaugrana team recorded their third draw of the year and the first in the Copa del Rey, in the first leg of the semifinals against Atlético Madrid (4-4).

The match played in Montjuïc was a true rollercoaster of emotions, with a terrible start for Barça after goals from Julián Álvarez and Antoine Griezmann in the first six minutes. However, between the 19' and the 41' (22 minutes), the team managed to turn the score around thanks to goals from Pedri González, Pau Cubarsí, and Iñigo Martínez, decisively overcoming the 'colchoneros'.

Diego Simeone's team spent the last 25 minutes of the first half completely retracted in their field, unable to make more than four consecutive passes and clearly suffocated by the high pressure from the culés. In the second half, Barça added another goal in the 74', scored by Robert Lewandowski, but Atlético reacted in the last ten minutes and managed to salvage a draw, something that this year had only been achieved by Atalanta (2-2) at the Blaugrana's field.

Barça maintains their unbeaten streak and continues in the 'race' for the treble

Interestingly, the 'colchoneros' were the last to defeat the Catalans this season (1-2 in La Liga), in a match played in Montjuïc on December 21 where 'Aleti' also came back in stoppage time thanks to a goal from Alexander Sorloth. Since then, 66 days and 14 matches have passed in which Barça has been clearly superior to most of their rivals (the 4-5 victory against Benfica being the only exception).

Fortunately for the culés, the draws against Getafe, Atalanta, and Atlético have not represented a decisive result so far. Certainly, the one that leaves the worst taste is the one in the Cup, but the tie remains completely open for the return leg at the Metropolitano (April 2), a stadium where Barcelona usually achieves good results. According to the tournament regulations, in the 'semis' the away goals rule is not taken into account, just as it has been in the Champions for a couple of seasons.
