FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will compete in a new Copa del Rey final. How many tickets will the Barça fans have?

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will face each other for the eighth time in the Copa del Rey final next Saturday, April 26. La Cartuja will be the venue for the final for the sixth consecutive season, marking the first time a Clásico determines the tournament champion. Previously, Barça and Madrid contested the title in 2011 and 2014, both finals played at Mestalla.

In this regard, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) expects to make around 25,000 tickets available to each team for their subscribers and members. According to the tournament protocol, each club has 33% of the available tickets, while the organizer retains the remaining 33%. However, it is likely that the Federation will allocate a percentage of its tickets to each team so that both have massive support.

In the coming days, both Barcelona and Real Madrid are expected to provide more details on how the distribution and sale of tickets will be conducted for a match scheduled to start at 21:30 hours. Likewise, the Junta de Andalucía will implement a special operation to ensure the readiness of the entire hospitality and transportation network in Seville.

La Cartuja, Ready to Host a Historic Final

This year, the Seville stadium will have a capacity of 70,000 spectators, following renovation work that included the removal of the athletics track. Originally, in February 2020, the RFEF signed an agreement with the Junta de Andalucía for La Cartuja to be the venue for the Cup finals for four editions, from the 2019-2020 season to the 2022-2023.

The decision was made with the aim of establishing a stable venue for the tournament, avoiding the usual disputes over the selection of the stadium that would host the final each year. Subsequently, in April 2022, a renewal of the agreement for two additional years was announced, extending the cup final until the 2024-25 season.

This extension was confirmed by the Junta de Andalucía, which highlighted the positive economic impact of the event in the region, estimated at more than 165 million euros for the first five editions. Thus, the current contract covers a total of six consecutive years, from the 2020 final (played in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic) to the 2025 final, scheduled for next Saturday, April 26.
