Controversy in the lead-up to the great Clásico. Just days before the 2024-25 Copa del Rey final between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, a serious error in the ticket distribution system has sparked discontent among members, supporters' clubs, and Barça fans. Many of them have reported serious problems obtaining their tickets to attend the highly anticipated match on Saturday, April 26th at La Cartuja (Seville).

The company in charge of ticket management, One Box, awarded by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), has made a significant error. According to several testimonies, there was a mass sending of tickets with incorrect names and documents, which made it impossible for the original recipients to use them.

One Box's statement: "Human error in the system"

Faced with pressure and numerous complaints, One Box issued an official statement in which it assumes responsibility for the failure and clarifies that FC Barcelona had no involvement whatsoever:

"We are writing to inform you that the error detected in the nominal details on the Copa del Rey final tickets was caused by a human error in the RFEF ticketing system in the administrative management of the winners' list.

After an internal review, we have found that this error was the result of a human mistake in the data matching. We take responsibility for what happened and want to make it clear that FC Barcelona had no participation or responsibility in this matter.

We sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings or inconveniences that this error may have caused. We want to assure you that the necessary measures have already been taken to correct the situation. You will soon be able to download the tickets again with the correct name.

Thank you very much for your understanding and, as always, we remain at your disposal."

FC Barcelona also speaks out: "Unacceptable"

Despite the clarification from One Box, FC Barcelona has expressed its outrage through a brief statement, making clear its rejection of what happened and announcing possible legal actions:

"FC Barcelona considers unacceptable the incident created in the sending of tickets for the Copa del Rey Final by the RFEF and its ticketing provider One Box and states that this management was outside the Club. It is also reported that the Legal Area will study whether the incident is likely to cause damage to our members, supporters' club members, and fans and will act accordingly against those responsible," the Azulgrana entity specified.
