Barça was once again a victim of Alexander Sorloth. The Norwegian has celebrated at least one goal in four consecutive visits to the blue and garnet stronghold.
Alexander Sorloth was once again the hero of the Atlético de Madrid at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. As the match was nearing its end and it seemed that the colchoneros would fall to the FC Barcelona in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals, the Norwegian striker received an assist from Samuel Lino under the goal of Wojciech Szczesny and scored the equalizing goal and keeps the tie alive.
Despite his team being dominated throughout the match, the Nordic striker once again 'killed' the Catalans in stoppage time. He first did it on December 21, 2024, in LaLiga, when he celebrated a goal in the 90+6 to give the rojiblancos three points and a temporary lead. However, the history between the forward and the blaugranas goes back a couple of years.
Sorloth's goals against Barça
With the goal celebrated in the 90+4 minute of last Tuesday's match, the player has now scored in four consecutive visits, at least one goal in the culé stronghold and has become the player who has scored the most goals against the culés in stoppage time (3) since the 2003/04 season, surpassing the two goals of Fernando Torres and Jude Bellingham.
The first of his goals at the Barça stadium came on May 20, 2023, when, wearing the jersey of Real Sociedad, he scored one of the goals in the 1-2 victory for the Donostiarras. In the following season, this time defending the colors of Villarreal, Sorloth celebrated a goal in the 3-5 victory for the 'groguets'.
Later, the Norwegian gave a dramatic victory (1-2) to Atleti with his goal in the 96th minute on December 21, 2024, in matchday 18 of LaLiga, and finally, he rescued the colchoneros again in the Catalan city with another 'last-minute' goal to move the Copa tie to Madrid with everything still to play for. The culés have a new 'black beast'.
