Ansu Fati at the limit: Will the desperation for lack of minutes lead him to leave Barça?

The future of Ansu Fati at FC Barcelona seems to be reaching its conclusion. The young azulgrana academy player, once considered one of the most exciting prospects in football, is now sidelined in Hansi Flick's sports planning. 

The German coach does not see the '10' as a piece to consider as a game-changer in the culé offensive front. He has left him in an ostracism that could make Ansu Fati reconsider his continuity at the club for the next season.

Ansu Fati: A player 'affected' by the lack of minutes

According to reports from 'Mundo Deportivo', Ansu Fati is very affected by his current situation at FC Barcelona. Since January 4, 2025, when he played 25' in the 0-4 victory against UD Barbastro in the Copa del Rey, the forward has not seen any official minutes.

Since then, 21 matches have passed, and the player has not even been called up for some of them, despite not having any physical setbacks. This situation is starting to affect his morale and his development as a player, especially considering that his contract with Barcelona expires in June 2027.

Ansu Fati knows he cannot afford to let his career stagnate any further. Unlike the last winter market, when he decided to stay at the club hoping for opportunities, the situation has not improved.

The competition for a spot in the attack is fierce. Furthermore, the winger has not been able to make the leap that everyone expected from him, as a player who holds the '10' of the Catalan team and who has one of the highest salaries in the squad.

Hansi Flick, in a recent press conference, commented on Ansu Fati's situation:  "We will see if it is possible or not. If we need him, he will come in. It is not an easy situation for him". Although he does not close the door to his participation in some matches, it is evident that the German coach's confidence in the winger is limited, which raises doubts about his future in the team.
