Barça and the City Council Fine-Tune Details for the Reopening of Spotify Camp Nou

FC Barcelona hopes to return to Spotify Camp Nou in mid-February or early March 2025, and the club's management is continuing to fine-tune details so that the return of the fans to the culé temple includes all the comforts. One of the club's goals for the upcoming year is to promote a new sustainable mobility plan, in collaboration with the City Council, to make access to the Stadium much more efficient.

According to the director of the sustainability area of Barça, Jordi Portabella, it is expected that at least one third of the 65,000 spectators who will be able to enter Camp Nou at the beginning of 2025 will arrive at the Stadium on foot. Meanwhile, another third (around 36.5%) should use public transport, as the goal is to reduce independent vehicle use.

"With less emissions and more health", are some of the phrases that will be seen on the new advertising posters that the club will use to promote travel to the renovated culé temple. According to projections from the sustainability area, about 25.9% of fans will travel by car, while 17.1% will use the metro, and only about 6% will use motorcycles as transportation.

Other Measures by the City Council for the Return to Camp Nou

For its part, the City Council approved lifting private mobility restrictions on match days, while maintaining surveillance in the area through cameras. With this, the authorities aim to benefit the residents of Les Corts on Mejía Lequerica and Felipe de Paz streets, two of the main roads that suffer the most from the impact of each Barça match.

Additionally, it is planned to implement free public transport on match days, similar to what Germany did during the last Euro Cup. Likewise, the club will provide 10,400 parking spaces for cars around the Stadium; along with 3,120 spaces for motorcycles (reorganized to not obstruct pedestrian passage) and an exclusive taxi stop to avoid congestion on Menéndez Pelayo street.
