FC Barcelona faces a unique Clásico, with Travis Scott as the protagonist on their shirt
The dispute over who will be the artist in charge of decorating the shirt of FC Barcelona in the league Clásico on May 11 is at its peak. Initially, there was talk of the famous American singer Taylor Swift and the British Ed Sheeran as the favorites to stamp their logo on the Barça jersey. However, a new name has gained strength in recent weeks: Travis Scott.
According to what was stated in the 'Diari Ara', the rapper originally from Houston is presented as a solid option for this collaboration, especially considering his enormous success. With more than 68 million monthly listeners on Spotify, he is one of the most listened to artists, only surpassed by giants like Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, Bad Bunny, Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish.
The Barça-Travis Scott collaboration would already be done
The confirmation that Travis Scott could be on the Barcelona shirt seems closer every day. According to journalist Víctor Navarro, three weeks ago the players of the culé team already did a photo session with the jersey and the rapper's logo. This revelation corroborates that the collaboration is practically closed.
In addition, an interesting detail regarding Travis Scott is linked to the fact that the American already enjoys a previous relationship with Catalonia. During the launch of his album 'Utopia', the artist was linked to the Castellers de Vilafranca, who performed a 4 of 9 with lining in the Tarraco Arena Plaza in Tarragona. Members of the Castellers de Mediona and the Niños de Tarragona were also present. The Ciudad Condal is not at all foreign to him.
A new amulet for Barcelona?
It should be remembered that the fact that Travis Scott (or any other artist) appears on the Barcelona shirt on such a special occasion as a Clásico, is due to the sponsorship agreement signed between the azulgrana team and Spotify, main 'sponsor' of the club, which allows renowned singers and bands to stamp their logos on the jersey of the culé team in commitments of this style in LaLiga. This same agreement has already allowed other soloists and groups such as Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, Karol G, Rosalía and Drake to appear on the 'zamarra' of the Barcelona team.
It remains to be seen if this collaboration with Travis Scott is finally confirmed. If confirmed, the rapper would be the first American singer to be part of this agreement with FC Barcelona, which could bring luck to the team from the Ciudad Condal. It is worth remembering that in the past, artists such as Rosalía and Coldplay, who were also on the jersey of the Catalan team, brought positive results to the club.
