FC Barcelona suffered a new defeat in LaLiga against UD Las Palmas, but the result was once again marked by highly questionable refereeing decisions. In a difficult and hard-fought match, in which Barça could not impose their fluid play as in most of the games this season, the blue-and-gran players were disadvantaged by several actions where the referee's interpretation was crucial for the final outcome. The injustice was especially prolonged in the final stages, with plays that caused outrage among both the team and the fans.

One of the most controversial plays occurred in the 87th minute, with a 1-2 scoreline and a corner kick in favor of Barça. Pau Cubarsí suffered a stomp from Mika Mármol inside the area, which caused him to fall. Although the contact was clear and visible in the TV replays, neither referee Adrián Cordero Vega nor the VAR, with Busquets Ferrer in charge, considered there was a reason to sanction the play. Cubarsí ended up with his ankle bleeding from the studs of the former Barça youth player, but the player's complaints to the fourth referee, pointing out his injury, went unheard, and the match continued without interruptions.

In the minutes before, Raphinha suffered an elbow to the face, which could have left the Canarian team with ten players. However, both the referee and the VAR dismissed the action, considering the contact insufficient to intervene.

But the controversy didn’t end there. In the 94th minute, Pau Víctor appealed for a penalty after a hold by McKenna inside the area while trying to finish a cross. The replay showed that the hold occurred, but once again, the referee did not consider the action worthy of a sanction. In the end, Barça dropped three points at home, something that hadn’t happened all season, and this marks three consecutive matches without victories in LaLiga.
