Barcelona will break this Wednesday in Dortmund a peculiar streak that has distanced them from their traditional colors. After three years and 15 matches as visitors in European competitions, the team will once again wear their primary blue and garnet kit at the Signal Iduna Park, in a clash against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
The last time Barça wore their main kit away from home was on November 2, 2021, when they defeated Dinamo 0-1 in Kyiv with a goal by Ansu Fati. In that match, Sergi Barjuan was the interim coach following the dismissal of Ronald Koeman, and Xavi Hernández was preparing to take charge of the team.
Since then, a combination of chromatic coincidences has led the team to use up to seven different colors in their European away matches. This return to the blue and garnet kit has been approved by UEFA.
