FC Barcelona will not return to the Spotify Camp Nou this year. Joan Laporta confirmed in Barça One the new tentative date to reopen the culé temple in 2025
FC Barcelona will have to play at least one month more than planned at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc. This Thursday, Joan Laporta spoke at Barça One about the latest progress in the remodeling of the Estadi and, although he confirmed that the Turkish company Limack is in charge of the project, he also admitted that previous delays will prevent the club from returning to the culé temple before the end. of the year, as planned.
"I am satisfied with having chosen the construction company and the pace of the works. I would have liked to go at a faster pace, but it was not possible. But it is not a complaint, everything takes time. The construction company wanted to give more progress to the issue ...If there are no imponderables, we will return to the Camp Nou at the beginning of 2025," explained the Barça president. Likewise, he made it clear that Barça will not blame Limak for the delays in making the penalty established in the contract effective.
Barça should return to the Camp Nou in February 2025
In that sense, he detailed when the Estadi should be ready for the first team to play again with a reduced capacity (60,000 spectators). "We would like the comforts to be maximum, but if it is not at the end of January it will be at the beginning of February," Laporta acknowledged, also clarifying that the option of waiting until the summer to return to Les Corts is ruled out.
In turn, the Barça president indicated the difficulties of defining an exact date due to the complexity of the calendar. What is certain is that the team does not plan to play on two fields at the same time and, when they return to Camp Nou, there will be no return to Montjuïc. Regarding ticket allocation, there is also a defined route that partners already know.
"We have members who have shown us their loyalty, there are about 17,000 of them. They will have preference to return first to the Camp Nou. There is a lot of enthusiasm to return, although it will not be in the best conditions because the stadium will continue under construction, but I hope that the accesses will be as best possible. There will be certain inconveniences" Laporta pointed out in an extensive podcast broadcast through the Barça One platform where he reviewed all the club's news, prior to the delegates' assembly this Saturday.
