Barça Women: Four goals and a Barça masterclass in 45 minutes to dominate Betis
The FC Barcelona women's team thrashed Betis 4-1 in matchday 12 of Liga F, adding 3 more points to their standings
With wind blowing in the Johan Cruyff, the Barça women's team began their final stretch of 2024 at home, facing Betis. The preview had a special touch with the arrival of the mascot Cat, the debut of Ellie Roebuck in the culé goal and Patri Guijarro, recognized as MVP of the month of November in the Liga F.
Four goals put victory on track before the break
From the opening whistle, the blaugranas dominated completely, opening the scoring with Esmee Brugts, who took advantage of a rebound after a shot from Pina. Minutes later, Caroline Graham Hansen made it 2-0 with an arrival at the far post after an assist from Ona Batlle. The culé dominance did not cease, and Batlle joined the attack to score the third.
The 4-0 came seconds later, thanks to Patri Guijarro, who recovered the ball from Betis's exit and assisted Graham for his double, closing out an overwhelming first half for the home team.
Barça started the second half with a more relaxed attitude, maintaining control of the match without forcing the game. Despite several changes, including the entry of Schertenleib and Rölfo, the Blaugranas did not lose control of the ball, although they were unable to extend their lead in the first minutes. However, in the last minute, Zouhir scored for Betis, reducing the difference and leaving the score 4-1.
The wind, which had accompanied them at the start of the match, continued to blow at the Johan Cruyff, but it did not manage to alter the calm with which Barça closed this 4-0 and added three new points, consolidating their position as leaders of the F League.
