Barça top and in the quarterfinals: Wolfsburg, Bayern or Real Madrid could be the next challenges in the European competition
After successfully completing the group stage of the UEFA Women's Champions League, FC Barcelona now has a clear idea of the teams they could face in the quarter-finals. The Blaugrana, who secured the top spot in their group against Manchester City, are awaiting the February draw to find out their next opponent in the European competition.
The teams that could cross Barça's path are Wolfsburg, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, who finished second in their respective groups. According to the regulations, these teams can be paired with the Catalan team in this next phase.
Eight teams in the fight for the title
In addition to Barça, another seven clubs have secured their qualification for the quarter-finals. The teams that remain in the fight for the title are: Arsenal, Chelsea, Lyon, Manchester City, Wolfsburg, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona itself.
The women's Champions League will take place in the second half of 2018. There will be a break until March, when the first legs of the quarter-finals will be played on the 18th and 19th, and the return legs on the 26th and 27th of the same month. The semi-finals will be played in April, with the first legs on the 19th and 20th and the return legs on the 26th and 27th. Finally, on the 24th of May, the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon will host the grand final, in which the new European champion will be crowned.
