The FC Barcelona squad returned to training this Wednesday after the two days off granted by Hansi Flick after the Clásico. Once again, Eric García was left out of the session
Eric García is still not training along with the rest of the FC Barcelona squad. This Wednesday, the man from Martorell was also unable to take part in the first session of the week, although he had worked normally on Sunday alongside the substitutes who were left without playing in the Classic played at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Hansi Flick gave the Barça squad two days off after the historic win against Real Madrid, a period that was supposed to be enough for the 23-year-old player to definitively overcome the discomfort in his right abductor that prevented him from playing last week.
The '24' felt a puncture in the warm-up prior to the duel against Sevilla (Eric was going to start) and, although the club has not issued an official medical report confirming his injury, he was left out of the squad against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
In principle, the defender converted into a pivot should be available for the Catalan derby, waiting to see him back in the transfers on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, where Hansi Flick will prepare the team to receive Espanyol (16:15 CEST).
Barça will arrive at the derby with at least five injured
On the other hand, Barça will arrive at the duel against the 'parakeet' team with five confirmed absences, waiting for what happens with Eric García. Ronald Araújo is the one who, in principle, would be closest to leaving the infirmary, but his return to the field will only occur after the November national team break, probably at the end of the month.
In the case of Ferran Torres, the forward is also preparing to return at the beginning of December, while the prognosis with Andreas Christensen is much more uncertain. The Dane has tendinopathy in his left Achilles and the club hopes to recover him in January, although there is still no tentative date for his return. Ter Stegen and Marc Bernal are ruled out for the rest of the season.
