Bocí pastry shop surprises with a giant recreation of Barça's future stadium made entirely of chocolate
With the arrival of Holy Week, the city of Barcelona is filled with shop windows competing to surprise with the most original Easter 'monas'. But this year there is one that stands out above the rest: a large-scale replica of the future Spotify Camp Nou, completely made of chocolate. The work, created by the Bocí pastry shop, weighs no less than 60 kilos and has already become the chocolate attraction of the city.
According to the media outlet 'Time Out Barcelona', the piece has truly impressive dimensions: 1.5 meters long, 1.25 meters wide and 30 centimeters high, and is made with dark, milk and white chocolate. More than a 'mona', it gives the impression of being a sculpture that pays tribute to the mythical 'culé' home.
An Edible Stadium Made with Pastry Engineering
The project was not easy. The Bocí team took two weeks to manufacture each component of this edible stadium. First, they designed the digital model with CAD software, which allowed them to recreate even the smallest architectural details of the venue.
Then, each piece was cut with a pressure water machine, a technique not common in pastry, but key to achieving a precise shape without damaging the chocolate. Edible inks were also used for the visual details, which gives the whole a realistic and spectacular finish, far above what is usually seen in this type of festive sweets.
Bocí, Barcelona Tradition with Innovative Flavor
The commendable creation bears the signature of Bocí, a pastry shop with more than six decades of history in Barcelona. Since 1959, this workshop located in Via Augusta, 112, has been a benchmark in the world of artisanal chocolate, combining classic techniques with avant-garde methods.
"We wanted to celebrate that we will have the new Camp Nou, the largest in Europe, and do it in a special way, worthy of a team that is a pleasure to watch play. That's why we have created this unique 'mona', so that people can enjoy it and be surprised by this sweet tribute to Barça", explained Joaquim Llovera, founder of the establishment, in statements collected by 'Time Out'.
The 'mona' can be seen in the pastry shop window until the end of Holy Week. In turn, it has become a must-see for fans of chocolate... and Barça.
