Andreas Christensen is one of the best defenders that FC Barcelona has in terms of technical skills. However, the Dane has not had much luck in terms of his physical condition, since on several occasions injuries have reduced his performance on the playing field
Andreas Christensen has been one of the greater 'bargains' that has added the FC Barcelona in the last years. The Danish arrived to the club in the season 2022-2023 like free agent after his go through Chelsea FC, and since has contested 55 commitments and 3995 minutes, turning into one of the 'leaders' of the saga culé and one of the active more valuable thanks to his defensive security and his technical capacity to facilitate the exit of balloon from the bottom, a very appreciated resource in the club.
Nevertheless, the adventure of the native of Lillerød in the City Condal has been blurred in this season because of injuries and several setbacks that have affected his exert. The '15' has suffered constantly small annoyances that, although they are not grave injuries, are used to to affect his performance and carry it to the parties with pains or with the risk to suffer a more severe mishap, what prevents him show his best level in the field.
The data that concerns around the performances of Andreas Christensen
The defender, the one who recently especuló that it could exert like pivote once that all the players of the defensive line are recovered, has starred a particular data in this period. Of the 23 clashes in which it has participated, at least in four of them has had to be replaced in the rest, and the majority of these replacements, by not saying all, have been been due to physical problems.
The most recent replacement occurred in the duel against the Unionistas of Salamanca (1-3) in the Glass of Rey, where apparently informed that it was replaced because of one overloads muscular, and decided not risking more with him. In his place, ingresó Pau Cubarsí. Previously, also it was replaced to the half time in the crossing against the UD Almería in LaLiga (Day 18) to avoid a possible expulsion by accumulation of yellow cards.
Before these two occasions mentioned, in the party against the Villarreal CF (Day 3), Andreas Christensen neither went out of the changing room in the rest because of physical annoyances that prevented him continue in the field and brake the relentless 'subidón' offensive that was having the 'Yellow Submarine'. And previously, in the first commitment of the campaign against the Getafe CF (Day 1), had to be replaced, in theory, to give freshness to the attack, but is unavoidable to think that it also could have been been due to some physical discomfort, since days before could not play in the Trophy Joan Gamper in front of the Tottenham because of an injury in the heel of Achilles.
The Danish neither has been able to complete several meetings
Equally, it is striking the number of times that Andreas Christensen has had to be substituted in this season, especially considering that it is a defender, a position in which generally they make fewer changes. Of the 23 meetings in which it has participated, has been replaced in 11 of them, and has completed the 90 minutes in 10, besides has ingresado like acting in two occasions. These data could suggest that, independently of some technical decisions, Christensen could be a more durable piece in the field if it was in optimum conditions.
For now, the Danish will lose the party against the Real Betis because of annoyances. Since it could not train with the team in the lawn and made works differentiated in the gymnasium in the day of yesterday, the club has considered convenient to leave it out of the announcement for the trip to Seville. Now, it will be necessary to evaluate if finally it will be recovered for the next commitment against the Athletic Club in the Glass of Rey, or if it will keep on being lastrado by the physical problems that ail him.
