The construction of the Espai Barça seems to have one more obstacle. Ferran Reverter, former CEO of the club, would have warned Goldman Sachs of the risks of investing in Barça, and now the financing of the project could be in danger
The construction of the Espai Barça continues giving him 'headaches' to the directive of the FC Barcelona. The project, that aims to be "the project of entertainment more important south of Europe", according to Joan Laporta, has not been able to give start to his works by distinct setbacks. Now, it arises an obstacle more, that could be determinant in the future of the plan of the president of the Barcelona entity.
And it is that the Espai Barça would be funded, in principle, by the group American investor Goldman Sachs, which would put 1.500 million euros to disposal of the Catalans for the execution of the same. However, as it informs the 'Diari Plough', the ex CEO of the Barcelona entity, Ferran Reverter, would have taken the telephone after his resignation like general director to warn them to the pertaining people to the American group the risks to invest in the Catalan club nowadays.
This would be by the little confidence that has him Reverter to the project comandado by Joan Laporta, since according to the Plough, the ex director culé would have said him to Goldman Sachs that said project would not be in 'safe hands' after adjust them interns made by 'Jan', that has self-proclaimed executive president of the club. Ferran would have acted in such a way to protect his professional reputation, due to the fact that it was he same the one who travelled to the United States for 'pipe' the negotiations with the American bank.
According to the previously mentioned source, a part of the managerial blaugrana would be concerned by the future of the finance, since this had to be closed at the beginning of this summer, as the foreseen at the beginning. Some of the reasons that would be generating doubts in the investment would be to move away the loges VIP of the field, which would generate less income, and the renunciation of Reverter, the one who acted like link in the conversations between the club and Goldman Sachs.
A setback more
Laporta Already had warned previously, in an interview to 'MD', the difilcutades of the project. The president had ensured that "now we are evaluating the impact of the war of Ukraine in the project. We can not obviar and be extraneous to all this because they have put up the price of the materials, have gone up the types of interests, and here is working so that all follow as the planned. And if the impact of the war has incidence, somehow reconducirlo".
However, the Ploughs informs that other members of the club affirm that "there is good tuning with Goldman Sachs", and añanden that "there is not worry by the finance of the Espai Barça", by what the uncertainty surrounds to the entity, that expects to solve what before the setback to be able to give start to the works.
