Hansi Flick Decided to trust Vitor Roque in his first XI in turns it of pre-season in United States, although it did it with the Brazilian like left extreme, something that seemed to finish prejudicing even more the continuity of the player in the entity

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona made their pre-season tour of the United States debut early on Wednesday morning. The blaugrana team faced Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the city of Orlando, and ended up winning the penalty shootout, after a 2-2 draw in the 90 minutes against the English team, who like Barça, had to rely on many young players due to the absence of many of their international players.

In the first line-up of the tour, Hansi Flick opted for Vitor Roque as a starter, who came onto the field with the number 17, the number that Marcos Alonso had worn for the last two seasons. After giving up his number 19 to Lamine Yamal, and not being able to use the '9' that he had against Olot due to the return of Robert Lewandowski, the Brazilian was on the field with a number that wingers usually use, precisely the role he had against City.

Vitor Roque Finish without giving solutions to the Barça

And with all the signs pointing to him eventually leaving the club, either on loan or on a transfer, Vitor Roque was faced with his first and great opportunity to show Hansi Flick, the directors and the Barça fans that it would be better to sign him and trust him for this season. But the reality is that he seems doomed, especially if we take into account that he was not even able to establish himself as a starting centre forward against Pau Víctor, who was signed a few days ago after his great season in the reserve team.

The former Girona player was the '9' chosen by Flick, leaving the Brazilian as a left winger for the first 45 minutes of the match, a time in which he was surely the most discreet Barça player during the first half against City. Inaccuracies, little danger to the opposing goal, insufficient pressure on the way out and no completed passes in just three attempts showed that he was out of position, and that he also does not seem to fit into the Catalan team.

Roque's big problem was that the other winger was also a player out of position, in this case the full-back Julián Araujo, who, although he was not too accurate, did leave some dangerous crosses and on several occasions made good decisions (12 out of 16 passes) to be able to enter the Barça game. Vitor Roque, on the other hand, seemed to add even more to his departure from Barça, only half a season after his arrival at the club and despite the fact that Lewandowski only has him as a natural alternative, although it seems that Flick will end up trusting other names, such as the aforementioned Pau Víctor.
