The Court of Arbitration of the Sport (TAS) received this Wednesday a demand of the FC Barcelona against the Zenith of St. Petersburg in front of the refusal of the Russian team to credit a bonus of 490.000 corresponding euros to each classification for the Champions League, as the stipulated in the agreement pactado by both clubs in 2019. In accordance with the clause, the Zenith would have to credit that mount to the Barça every time that it classified to the Champions, as long as Malcom contested at least the 50 % of the corresponding parties to the local league this season. The Barça demands the 490.000 corresponding euros to the season 2022/23, last in which the Russians advanced to the continental tournament.
However, the Zenith denies to pay because of the sanction of UEFA against the Russian clubs because of the war with Ukraine. Previously, the ones of St. Petersburg received the 'ok' of the FIFA, specifically of the judge Thulaganyo Gaoshubelwe, the one who determined that the Zenith would not have to be forced to "share an economic profit that never obtained", in addition to considering that the war in Ukraine does not have at all atribuíble to any Russian club.
