FC Barcelona continues working to find solutions to its economic problems. The Barça entity has encountered various problems when it comes to registering players (for example, the case of Dani Olmo, who is still not registered despite being announced almost two weeks ago) and hiring reinforcements, which is why it is exploring different alternatives to obtain salary space and financial muscle in the final stretch of the transfer market.

For this reason, from the Spotify Camp Nou offices they have resumed conversations with Nike to finally reach an agreement and sign the new contract. The Barça institution has been in negotiations with the American multinational for several months, and everything indicated that the officialization of the deal was imminent. Despite this, the situation was 'cooling' over the last few weeks and there was no further news in this regard.

However, the emergencies presented in the Blaugrana coffers have 'pushed' the culés to contact again the brand that has sponsored the club since 1998. According to 'El Partidazo de COPE', the problem lies in the claims of both parties, since that the Catalan entity, whose current agreement with the brand represents an income of 60 million euros per year, intends to receive a figure that exceeds 100 'kilos' annually. In fact, at the beginning of the summer there was talk of an agreement that was around 120 million per season, but it remained up in the air.

Nike's position

For its part, the proposal presented by the North American company does not reach this amount, but it could come close to the demands of Joan Laporta and company. The idea of both the Blaugrana institution and the 'swoosh' brand is to maintain a bond that has lasted for 25 years and that could extend, according to various information, for at least 10 more. The new agreement would give the necessary margin to resolve the pending issues of the summer window, which is why both sides are condemned to come to an understanding.
