One of FC Barcelona's young players has attracted the attention of one of the Ligue 1 teams and could leave Barcelona this summer, which would leave a significant sum of money in the club's coffers
There is hope at FC Barcelona: Senegalese international Mika Faye is being courted by a Ligue 1 team. The 20-year-old player's name has started to make noise in Europe, something extremely positive for the Barça board, which needs to get rid of some players to attract new reinforcements during the transfer market.
The 20-year-old centre-back has worked this pre-season with the Blaugrana team under the orders of Hansi Flick, after his possible signing for Porto ended up failing. The player surprised the German coach, who valued his qualities and considered that he could fit into his scheme. For this reason, at first it was thought that he would stay in Barcelona until at least January, but things seem to have changed in recent days.
Monaco and Nice follow in Faye's footsteps
According to new reports from the French press, two clubs are interested in the Senegalese footballer. The first is AS Monaco, who will return to the Champions League this season after finishing second in Ligue 1 last season. The first contacts have already been made between the two managements, because they want to strengthen their defence to face the upcoming challenges.
But the club from the principality would not be the only one interested in his services. Nice have also joined the fight and have even made a first offer to the Barça board. Frank Haise's new team needs at least one player in defence, because Jean-Clair Todibo is close to signing for Juventus. Only Dante would be available, although a player like Youssouf Ndayishimiye could help as a centre-back. The response from the Spanish management is not yet known, but it is likely that we will have more details about Faye's future in the coming days.
