Good news is starting to come from the FC Barcelona infirmary. The first of them with Frenkie de Jong as the main protagonist, since the Catalan club hopes to know between Monday and Tuesday if the Dutchman will be given the medical all-clear to be included in the squad for the Champions League match against Young Boys on October 1.
The Dutch midfielder, who has been out for five months after being injured in the Clásico on April 21, is about to be put under the orders of Hansi Flick once he has completed the recovery from his problems with his right ankle.
If he is not available for the match corresponding to the second day of the Champions League, he could be present on Sunday, October 6 against Alavés, in the last match of the Catalan team before the international break.
The expected returns after the FIFA date
Once the October international break is over, Gavi would be the next to rejoin the first team of the Blaugrana. The player from Los Palacios could arrive for the Barça-Sevilla game on October 20, just over eleven months after his serious knee and meniscus injury.
However, his return would be done gradually, so if he is not in the clash against the Andalusians, he would be reserved for Bayern (23-10) and Real Madrid (26-10) to avoid the tension of both duels and wait for his reappearance on November 3 against Espanyol.
Likewise, both Fermín López and Dani Olmo, although the latter is a little more limited, could also be back in the game against García Pimienta's team, since the recovery periods for both injuries coincide with the date of said match. In any case, Hansi Flick is 'rubbing his hands' with the four possible reinforcements that he could count on for a midfield that currently only has three pure players: Pedri, Marc Casadó and Pablo Torre.
