FC Barcelona is looking to include Ferran Torres in the 'renewal operation'

One of the names that is having a quite remarkable 2024-25 season at FC Barcelona is the 25-year-old forward, Ferran Torres. The native of Foios, despite not being a regular starter in Hansi Flick's scheme, has become a key piece for the German coach's sports project, being the first alternative that the coach turns to in order to refresh the offensive front.

In addition to his versatility to play as a winger on both sides and as a center forward, the Valencian has demonstrated his scoring ability. The statistics back this up, as with just 1,127 minutes of play, the 'Shark' is currently the fourth top scorer of the season for FC Barcelona, with a total of 13 goals in 32 matches.

Therefore, it is not surprising that the Blaugrana team is considering the option to extend his contract for several more years, regardless of the fact that there is still considerable time left before it expires. It should be noted that Ferran Torres will end his contract with the club on June 30, 2027.

Barcelona wants to renew Ferran Torres

According to reports in the sports newspaper 'SPORT', the sports management of FC Barcelona is already preparing a proposal to extend Ferran Torres' contract with the club. This eventual renewal would theoretically extend his stay in the Catalan team, at least until the year 2029.

Although the operation is far from being finalized, Barcelona seems to have established a series of economic contractual terms that they want to offer Ferran to ensure his continuity in the team. These conditions would involve extending his contract for two more years, maintaining his current salary, but increasing the bonuses.

The Valencian already saw this renewal as viable, as he recently pointed out in an interview with 'Mundo Deportivo' that he was convinced that both the club and he would sit down to negotiate soon. "There are many renewals ahead of mine at Barça, of players who are excelling. If the day comes to sit down and negotiate, I would be delighted. My doors will always be open," he commented.

This could result in a fruitful agreement for both parties, given that the forward is thrilled to play for FC Barcelona, where he is considered an important asset for the squad and has the approval of Hansi Flick.

This eventual renewal aligns with the plan of contract extensions being carried out by FC Barcelona.
