FC Barcelona puts an end to a streak not seen for over 100 years!

FC Barcelona have gone a second straight game without a win in LaLiga after suffering a last-minute draw against Celta de Vigo (2-2). A draw that marks the end of an impressive streak for the Blaugrana team, which until the match in Balaídos had accumulated 31 consecutive official matches without equalising the score.

A record that extended back to the 'Xavi era'

With a record of 25 wins and 6 losses, the Catalans had not signed a draw since March 3, when the team led, at that time, by Xavi Hernández drew 0-0 with Athletic Club de Bilbao at San Mamés.

Barça had achieved a score for or against in 14 games of the 2023/24 season, doing the same in 17 matches this season. This streak of 31 games without a draw has not been seen since the period between 1913 and 1916, when the Blaugranas themselves reached a historic record of 33 consecutive games without drawing.
