THE CULÉ TEAM CONTINUES TO EXPAND
FC Barcelona's sporting management continues to grow
August 6 has been a busy day at the FC Barcelona offices. After confirming the agreement for the signing of Dani Olmo, the sporting management continues to add important pieces for the future of the club
The Barcelona team continues to grow. After confirming that Dani Olmo will become the team's new player from the 2024-2025 season, a new member joins the culé club, this time, in the offices. It is the Italian, Andrea Mancini, sporting director of Sampdoria and son of the former footballer and former national team manager Roberto Mancini.
This movement has been brewing in recent weeks. Mancini had already met with Deco at the Ciutad Esportiva a few days ago to close the terms of the agreement that will make the Italian the new member of the culé sports management in the coming days. He is expected to land in Barcelona next week and, although it is not yet clear what his job will be, it is likely that he will become the right-hand man of the Portuguese leader.
Currently, the Barça football organization has Rafael Yuste as the top person in charge of the sports area. Deco is the director of football and Bojan Krkic acts as coordinator and support for the loaned players. Hansi Flick is the first team coach and all are under the direction of the president, Joan Laporta.
Barcelona continue to grow
Mancini's arrival could be quite positive for the club. In 2018, the Italian completed a course as a sporting director, after a brief career as a football agent. He has worked at Fiorentina alongside sporting director Daniele Pradé and in 2023 he joined Sampdoria as part of the sporting direction, working in the area of scouting and transfers as an assistant to Nicola Legrottaglie's technical area. Shortly after, he was promoted to sporting director, so it will be interesting to see what he can bring to the Blaugrana club.
