The referee's report stated that the FC Barcelona coach had approached the main referee "leaving the technical area, shouting and gesturing" in protest of one of his decisions.

However, during the live broadcast of the match, what happened could not be seen. Fortunately, a DAZN camera was able to capture the moment and has published the footage on its official channel on the social network X. The video has triggered an immediate reaction from thousands of fans, who could not believe what had really happened.

Regarding Muñiz Ruiz's decision to show him the red card, the German stated that "I think I didn't complain much. It took a long time to look at it and if it takes so long, it's probably because it wasn't. I'm not proud of myself (for the expulsion), they told the referee something and they decided to give me the red card".
