FC Barcelona is preparing to recover one of the key players in its tactical scheme, Pablo Gavi. The Andalusian is showing encouraging progress in his recovery process and, if all goes well, he should return to training this Thursday

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Good news for FC Barcelona. At a time when the Culé squad has up to seven injured players, the recovery of one of them seems to be progressing towards a successful conclusion. This is one of the most beloved homegrown players in recent times: Pablo Gavi.

The player from Los Palacios y Villafranca suffered an unfortunate complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and an associated injury to the lateral meniscus on November 19 during the match between the Spanish national team and Georgia, corresponding to matchday 10 of the Euro 2024 qualifiers. This serious physical setback required the '6' to undergo surgery on November 28 in a corrective surgery performed by Dr. Joan Carles Monllau at the Barcelona Hospital.

Since then, a long road to recovery began for the player from Palacios. Fortunately, it seems that this journey is coming to an end for both the Andalusian and FC Barcelona. After approximately 10 months and a few days, the talented midfielder is already training on the field. Following a specific recovery program, the feelings of improvement are increasingly positive, gradually regaining that characteristic intensity in him.

When will Gavi return to play for FC Barcelona?

Given this, the question arises: When will Gavi return to the playing fields? In this case, the call is clearly still for caution, since the main premise is not to take any risks with the return of the player. In this sense, as suggested in 'SPORT', his return will continue to conform to the deadlines that have been mentioned from the beginning. What is almost certain is that, starting this Thursday, the '6' will return to training with his teammates.

The priority at this point is for the Andalusian to return at 100% and minimize the risk of a relapse as much as possible. With this in mind, it is expected that Gavi will gradually integrate into the dynamics of the Culé team during the next month of October. However, he is not expected to reach his maximum level of demand immediately; it is anticipated that he will gradually regain his playing rhythm, aiming to be at full capacity by Christmas, once a year has passed since his unfortunate injury that has kept him off the field for a considerable period, covering approximately 46 matches to date.
