Dani Olmo took part in part of Thursday's session with the Barça squad. When will the attacking midfielder reappear?

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona received another good news this Thursday. After Hansi Flick's team's exhibition against Borussia Dortmund, the squad held a recovery session in which the main novelty was the incorporation of Dani Olmo. The attacking midfielder, who had been training apart from the group since last week, did part of the work with his teammates, leaving very good feelings ahead of his return to action.

The 26-year-old suffered a myofascial injury to the adductor of his right leg on March 28 against Osasuna (3-0) and his estimated time off is three weeks. The club's idea was to have him for the return of the Champions League quarter-finals against Borussia Dortmund, but everything points to the '20' taking a few more days to return.

At the moment, Dani has accumulated 1,408 of action spread over 28 games in which he has 8 goals and 5 assists. In the first round, the attacking midfielder missed 4 La Liga games and 2 Champions League games due to a muscular problem. In January, he suffered another setback that kept him in the Azulgrana infirmary for another two weeks, which means that the Spanish international has suffered three injuries in 2024-25.

The expected date for Dani Olmo's return with Barça

In that sense, everything points to the Terrassa native officially reappearing next Saturday, April 19 in the Barça-Celta match (4:15 p.m. at Montjuïc), although he is not completely ruled out for the rematch against Dortmund next Tuesday. However, the large score in the first leg (4-0) may be decisive for the coaching staff to decide to preserve him, as Fermín López and Gavi have been in charge of covering his absence in a very good way.

The Andalusian was a starter and scored against Betis (1-1), while the Huelva native gave an assist against Borussia to complete a great match. As things stand, Dani Olmo will have enough time to fully recover and return to the final stretch of 24-25 at his best. After the match against Celta, the Culés will receive Mallorca (Tuesday 22 at 9:30 p.m.) and, on Saturday 26, they will play the Copa del Rey final at La Cartuja, against Real Madrid (10:00 p.m.).
