Ronald Araújo continues to make progress in his recovery from his right hamstring injury, which he suffered on July 7 in the quarter-finals of the Copa América against Brazil. Two weeks after this setback, on July 22, the Uruguayan was operated on in Finland by doctor Lasse Lampainen, who had already treated FC Barcelona players such as Dembélé and Sergi Roberto. Although the length of time he was out was not made public, these types of injuries leave those who suffer from them out of action for around four months before returning to the pitch.

Thus, the South American centre-back, one of the captains of the first team, accompanied the rest of his teammates in the presentation of the squad at the Trofeu Joan Gamper, before heading back to his country with permission from the club. The footballer landed in Montevideo, where he carried out the first part of his recovery process with his family.

Ronald, who has taken a reserved stance and has not shown anything on social media, has been working with a physiotherapist these last few weeks while keeping a close eye on the Barça squad, which has had an 'overwhelming' start to the season under Hansi Flick, achieving four wins in the first four LaLiga games. The German coach is eagerly awaiting the return of the defender, who is set to play a major role in the squad as he fits perfectly into the German's scheme.

Ronald will return to Barcelona on Friday

Thus, once the first stage of his recovery is complete, Araújo will return to Barcelona on Friday and next week he will return to the facilities of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. According to the newspaper 'SPORT', the club's doctors will examine the evolution of the Uruguayan's injury and the player will be placed under the orders of the club's recovery team to work on his return to the Blaugrana, which, a priori, could take place at the end of November.
