Hansi Flick could be left without his star 'signing' this winter

Hansi Flick hoped to have the incorporation of Thiago Alcántara back in his coaching staff during this winter transfer window. The former midfielder would join the German's staff as an assistant, but his hiring has been hindered by the delicate financial situation that the blue and garnet entity is facing today.

The former Barcelona player has been in the Catalan city since December and is waiting for the club to unblock his operation. A situation that could happen soon, since, with the Catalans back in the 1/1 rule, it is more viable to find a solution to the inconvenience, although it is expected, at least, until after the Supercopa de España. 

A key reinforcement for Hansi Flick

For now, the newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' reported that Thiago is enjoying his time with family in Barcelona. The former midfielder was already alongside Flick at the beginning of his tenure on the bench at Spotify Camp Nou, although under a collaboration agreement without any personal contract.

At that time, Alcántara acted as a link between the German and the squad and helped him adapt to the city. Later, the former player had to return to England to resolve a tax issue, although he maintained permanent contact with the culé coaching staff. Now, it seems to be a matter of days before we see him again alongside the blaugrana coach at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
