Barça will not have any day off before visiting Barbastro on January 4. Initially, the team was not scheduled to train on January 1, but Flick has arranged a session in the afternoon
After a complicated end to the year, Hansi Flick wants his FC Barcelona to start 2025 with a bang. For this reason, and despite the fact that, initially, the squad would rest on January 1, the Blaugrana coach has changed the training schedule and planned a work session at 5 PM next Wednesday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
Thus, the first team will not have any day off before facing Barbastro next Saturday, January 4, in the Copa del Rey. The Catalan team returned to training last Sunday, December 29, and by the date of the match, they will have accumulated four sessions to arrive at the cup clash in the best conditions.
Lamine Yamal will not be in the Cup match
For the match against the Aragonese team, Flick will still not be able to count on Lamine Yamal. The Blaugrana star continued with his specific recovery plans apart from the group in this Monday's session, and all signs point to him not being ready for Saturday's clash. However, the culés do expect him to be available for the semifinals of the Supercopa de España against Athletic Club, a match that will take place on Wednesday, January 8.
