The FC Barcelona is starting to see better prospects regarding the return of one of its injured players. Recently, images of Ferran Torres' recovery have been released and the efforts he is making for his return. Similarly, the Blaugrana team has used their various social media platforms to inform about the progress of one of their most anticipated assets: Ronald Araújo.

The 25-year-old Uruguayan defender is recovering from an injury sustained on July 7 during the quarter-finals of the 2024 Copa America between the Uruguayan national team and Brazil, where he 'felt a twinge' in the back of his right leg. After the necessary medical examinations, it was determined that he needed surgery, which took place on July 22 in Finland, successfully performed by Dr. Lasse Lempainen.

Following the operation, it was estimated that Ronald Araújo would require approximately three to four months of recovery. This period is nearing completion and appears to be progressing effectively as demonstrated by Araújo's intensive individual training sessions, performing various exercises with and without the ball.

Barcelona shows new progress in Ronald Araújo's recovery

The positive signs regarding Ronald Araújo's recovery are evident in the recently shared images by FC Barcelona, where he can be seen doing sprints and other ball exercises regularly. Additionally, he appears to be in excellent physical shape, suggesting that his return could be sooner than expected.

It is now expected that Ronald Araújo's return will be confirmed for the match against Celta de Vigo after the November FIFA break, scheduled for November 23 at Balaídos. If not this match, his next appearance would be on November 26 in the game at Montjuïc against Stade Brestois, valid for matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions League.

Considering this, Araújo, who once vowed to return "like a bull", would be back for a crucial phase of the season. His return will add depth to an area where Barcelona already has two essential pillars, like Pau Cubarsí and Iñigo Martínez, who are key players in Hansi Flick's starting XI.

However, Ronald's presence when fully fit ensures one of the best central defenders in the world. The '4' brings leadership and security in the defensive line, qualities that Barcelona would undoubtedly appreciate having back in their sporting project.
