The FC Barcelona board has not stopped working in what will be the most critical week of the transfer market. The Catalans must reach 1/1 and achieve financial fair play before August 30 in order to be able to register Dani Olmo and sign other players. The departures of Mika Faye, Vitor Roque and Clément Lenglet have improved the situation, although there is still some work to be done to achieve the objective.
Lenglet was loaned to Atlético de Madrid and there are two different concepts involved in the situation of the Catalans. On the one hand, the expense is reduced by extending his current contract from two to three years, which generates a reduction of about 6 million euros, which is recovered in favor of 1/1. There is also the margin in favor of fair play that the French center back leaves by going to another team and being registered with Barcelona. How do Roque and Faye contribute to 'fair play'?
If we talk about Roque and Faye, we have to mention two different contexts. In the case of the Brazilian, who was loaned to Real Betis, there is only the expense that is removed by signing for another club, since his new team will assume his fee for the 2024-2025 season, since the forward was not registered in the squad of Hansi Flick's team. It does help in the search for 1/1, but Barça does not receive a percentage in terms of salary or amortization of capital that it can use to register or sign.
