Joan Laporta, on the threshold of the start of 2025, did not hesitate to express his wishes for the institution, as well as another more supportive desire outside of football
The year is coming to an end and the Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, leaves behind what was a bittersweet 2024 for the Culé entity. Unfortunately, the first men's team could not lift any trophies and had to undergo a coaching change, transitioning from Xavi Hernández to Hansi Flick to renew hopes and a cycle that seemed worn out. However, there was a great 'injection' of joy with the women's first team, who achieved a historic quadruple (League title, Copa de la Reina, Spanish Super Cup, and Women's Champions League).
Now, in a brief contact with 'SPORT', Joan Laporta has expressed his hopes for 2025 at FC Barcelona, in what will be his fourth year of presidency in his second term as the president of the historic Barcelona institution.
Joan Laporta's Three Wishes for 2025
1. Unity of Barça Fans
In this regard, Joan Laporta, who is in the eye of the storm, being one of the main figures pointed out in the controversy currently surrounding the Blaugrana team regarding the registration of Dani Olmo, has started his requests for 2025, ensuring what has been one of his mainstays throughout his tenure as a Culé: unity of Barça fans.
The Catalan president believes that if Barça fans remain united, it will be easier to achieve the team's goals for 2025. "I wish for all Barça fans to be proud of all their athletes and to remain united", Laporta commented.
'Jan' is clear that the unity of Barça fans is undoubtedly the best way to face a season that may present certain complications along the way due to external factors, typical of the greatness of a team like Barcelona.
2. Return to Spotify Camp Nou
Joan Laporta's second wish for 2025 in the context of Barça has been represented by one of the club's great desires and the Barça fanbase in general, which is the return to Spotify Camp Nou. "I wish for the team to return to Spotify Camp Nou, a circumstance that is the collective dream of Barça fans". It should be noted that initially, it was expected that the Blaugrana team could return to their historic stadium with limited capacity by the end of 2024.
At one point, it was mentioned that the match between Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona (1-2) on December 21, which marked the end of the 2024 year in LaLiga EA Sports, was supposed to take place at the Spotify Camp Nou. However, due to various complications, this return to the historic Culé stadium has been delayed and unfortunately could not happen in 2024. The forecast is that, despite no exact date for the return, it could happen either next February or March.
3. Solidarity with DANA Victims
Finally, Joan Laporta has expressed one of his wishes that is not necessarily related to FC Barcelona, showing his more charitable side. "I wish for aid and normality to reach all the people affected by DANA". It is worth remembering that DANA refers to all the terrible floods that affected several towns in Valencia since October 29, causing a significant number of fatalities.
Faced with this tragic scenario, various institutions, including FC Barcelona, found ways to channel money and other collaborations through various initiatives to help the Valencian Community in such a challenging time.
