Laughter at Barça! The funny banter between Fermín López and Lamine Yamal that you can't miss

Fermín López gave an interview to 'SPORT' in which, in addition to discussing his present and that of FC Barcelona on the field, he also opened up to show his more personal side off the pitch. The midfielder, besides talking about his relationship with Hansi Flick, also highlighted the good vibes existing within the Barça locker room.

Regarding the coach, the academy player stated that "he is very approachable, always treats us well. He is demanding because he is the boss and being at Barça requires a lot of demand. But he is a person who always tries to help us all". Likewise, he confessed that the German speaks to the squad "in English, although he drops some words in Spanish already (laughs)".

However, it is well known the rigidity of the German regarding punctuality. A rule that does not pose a major problem for Fermín, who only sets "one alarm" to avoid being late to the coach's talks. "One is enough. Last year I did oversleep a couple of times, but this year not at all. That can't happen. This season I have had to run down the hotel stairs a few times, that's for sure (laughs). But I always try to be punctual, which the boss appreciates", he commented.

His life outside Barça and his 'banter' with the locker room

The midfielder stated that he is "quite calm" outside the pitch, assuring that "I like to be at home. Now I have a little dog, I’m with my family, with my girlfriend, with my brother… I’m quite family-oriented, to be honest", although he also admitted to being a fan of PlayStation, which has brought him some banter within the Barça locker room.

"In the national team, we play a lot of FIFA with Lamine, and the truth is that I always win, although he will say otherwise. Dani (Olmo) and Pedri also play, but they play a different game, not football", he revealed, adding with laughter that, once Yamal reads the interview, the winger "will definitely want to respond, you’ll see! He will say it’s not true and that this and that...".

His relationship with the Barça fans

Regarding the comparisons with Pedro Rodríguez, Fermín stated that "it’s too much, I think. I liked Pedro a lot and I have always looked up to him, but I don’t like being compared to him because of everything he did and meant for the club. My time in the first team at Barça has just begun. Although it’s also good and means that I’m doing things well, that I’m proving myself when I get minutes. I try not to listen to those things".

Finally, he sent a special message to the Barça fans, who already consider him one of their 'favorite' players. "Both on the field, walking down the street, and on social media, I always read positive things that they write to me. That is also very important for a player and I am very grateful for the support that the fans always give me", he concluded.
