La Liga removes Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor from the official FC Barcelona 2024/25 squad

The FC Barcelona had until December 31 to resolve the situation of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, who were registered only until the end of 2024. Once the deadline passed, the reaction from LaLiga was immediate and forceful.

After receiving and analyzing the additional documentation regarding the payment receipts for the sale of VIP seats at Spotify Camp Nou, the league's governing body issued an official statement explaining that the regulations did not allow for the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.

"LALIGA informs that, as of today, December 31, FC Barcelona has not presented an alternative that, in compliance with LALIGA's economic control regulations, allows it to register any player starting January 2"

The second move, in a clear attempt to close the matter, was to remove the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor along with their respective numbers (20 and 18) from La Liga's official website. They no longer appear in the section corresponding to the FC Barcelona roster, however, Andreas Christensen does appear, whose registration was removed in August after his injury.

Despite the recent moves, Barça remains hopeful and continues to work convinced that it will eventually be able to re-register both players for the second half of the season.
