Calendar of FC Barcelona

After three matches in obscurity, Marc Casadó was a starter for the second consecutive time in LaLiga EA Sports 24/25 and made the most of his opportunity. The FC Barcelona thrashed Real Sociedad in Montjuïc (4-0) and the academy player played a key role, scoring the goal that extended the lead for the culés, his first with the first team, and paved the way for a victory that allowed them to pull away at the top of the standings.

The midfielder scored his first goal for the Catalan team in the 29th minute of the match against the Donostiarras. Dani Olmo intercepted a clearance from Remiro from a corner taken by Raphinha from the right and, although the shot from the Egarense was going wide of the goal, it found a deflection off the left knee of the '17' azulgrana that ultimately sent the ball into the back of the net.

In this way, the academy player celebrated his first goal as a professional player and added the 'jewel' to the crown of a new recital in the midfield. The influence of the 21-year-old player was crucial for Barça's victory, as, in addition to his goal, he completed 77 passes out of 84 (92%) and was one of the players with the most touches of the ball (95). Defensively, he won 6 duels, 1 of them aerial, made two interceptions, and was only dribbled past twice.

Casadó spoke about his competition with Frenkie de Jong

After the match, Casadó faced the media and, when asked about his goal, admitted that "I was stepping aside, I saw that Dani (Olmo) was going to shoot, at the last moment I looked to put my knee in and it went in. We knew that Real was a tough opponent due to their pressure. The red card made the match easier for us, and the team managed to stay calm to control the ball and create chances."

However, his most emphatic statement came when questioned about his competition with Frenkie de Jong in midfield. The academy player stated that "players always want to play as many minutes as possible. Now I have been on the bench more. I accept it and try to show when the opportunities come," making it clear that, far from being affected by the situation, he is willing to continue fighting for a spot in the starting eleven whenever Flick gives him the opportunity. His outstanding performance, meanwhile, continues to fuel the debate.
