In a very short time, Hansi Flick has won the affection and support of his FC Barcelona players. In recent days, many footballers have spoken out about their new coach, one of them is Marc Casadó, who only had good things to say

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Marc Casadó is one of the best players in the FC Barcelona youth system and is one of those who has had the most prominence at the start of the 2024-2025 season under the direction of Hansi Flick. The 20-year-old Spaniard has positioned himself as the German coach's favourite for the Blaugrana team's defence after Marc Bernal's serious injury.

In the last match against Valladolid, Casadó played 62 minutes before being replaced by Eric García and made a great impression with 63 good passes out of the 64 he made. Flick could even be seen applauding a pass he made during the match, a clear example of the confidence the German has in the Spaniard and now he wants to repay him with talent and work the support he has shown him.

Casadó 'praises' Flick

In an interview with 'TV3', the youth player was grateful for the confidence shown in him by his coach: "We feel his confidence a lot, he is a very close coach, he talks a lot with the players." He also highlighted the importance of winning the first games of the season: "Getting four out of four is important, that's how you can get titles. Madrid has a great squad, so do we, and we are doing things well," he commented.

Flick even compared Casadó to Flick at one point. The Bayern Munich player reached his best level under the direction of the German coach, so the Spaniard explained what this comment meant to him: "Last season I started playing as a full-back, like him, and it stuck. And, on top of that, Balde started to highlight the physical resemblance. Now I can greet him in Munich. Oh no! We're playing at home with Bayern... Should I say something about the resemblance? No, no."

As for his role models, the young footballer mentioned two legends of the Barça team: “My role model was always Xavi and when I started playing as a ‘six’ I always looked up to Sergio Busquets.” Casadó was one of the players who stood out the most in the preseason along with Marc Bernal, both played in the double pivot, but now the circumstances have changed due to his teammate’s injury, so he will have to play as a central midfielder.
